FAIR LAWN, NJ [CHI] — The idea of creating a Jewish day camp came slowly to the rabbis at Bris Avrohom of Fair Lawn, but they knew they wanted to fill a void. Many local children were not getting a Jewish education throughout the school year and their goal became to provide these children with a fun summer experience that also gave them a background in Jewish traditions and customs. The Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp was born! The initial registration was overwhelming, as the only Jewish day camp in Fair Lawn, NJ attracted children from all walks of life within the community.

The Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp combined a healthy summer experience with a friendly, nurturing Jewish atmosphere. Children were treated to exciting trips, daily swimming, arts and crafts, lessons in Jewish history, hot lunches daily, lots of camp spirit and a beautiful 6500 square foot, fenced in, playground all under the careful supervision of reliable and mature counselors. Every week’s important Jewish lesson was reinforced through the games, arts and crafts and music activities throughout the day.
