    Excellent!
One thing this community needs is real Yirat Chait and Ahavat Yisroel.

finally we are removing the mask from the Baruch Ha Shem flippant mentality, where "everything is fine and dandy" when it is not!….when we are hush hush about mental health challenges and push them under the rug, then the consequences can be dire….this is 2007, not the mid 1950’s plastic society, when "Father apparently didn’t know Best and leaving it to Beaver wasn’t such a good idea after all…….. let’s get real….

  • Don-t know the solution

    To Wondering:

What do you want the "mental health professionals" to do…go door to door and collect those who r"l have mental health struggles and force them into treatment? Parents, family and friends are the first line of defense in caring for a mentally ill person. Mental health professionals can help by being available and possibly by training the "hamon am" what warning signs to look for. But honestly, do you think if such trainings were offered people would actually show up?

There are, R"L numerous issues in our communities that are brushed aside and not dealt with. People only wake up when tragedy occurs. I have a very close friend stuck in a crazy, abusive marriage. (And she is absolutely not alone in her situation! There are many many others like her!) Both she and her children are abused in NUMEROUS ways DAILY. She has spoken to top proffessionals and all the Big Shots the Chabad world has to offer. Guess what? She’s still in it! She’s afraid to call the police because she’ll be called a "moser" and the community won’t back her. Her monstor of a husband goes around CH smooth as can be, everyone’s best friend. His newest tactic has been to tell people disgusting lies about his wife (but, he’s willing to stay married to her…)
I’d rather not list the things he is KNOWN to have done in the past (here in CH!)…And yet, the community turns a blind eye and deaf ear.
Yes, its’s time to wake up, fellow Yidden! If anyone can help in the above-mentioned situation, please post it on this site. Maybe CH.Info can put in an article on the subject.
May we only share in good news,
    Heart-Broken

  • ANSWER TO HEART BROKEN

    Attention: Heart-Broken

A woman should NEVER suffer like that, that is terrible! There is an unbelievable Psychotherpaist who is Chabad, (helped a friend of mine when noone else would) not scared to open her mouth, take a stance and has dealt with many issues like this one and helped women tremendously. She actually got a Bracha from the Rebbe over 25 years ago to go to college for this. Her name is Shira Frank, C.S. W., she lives in Flatbush. PLEASE have your friend call her, she is a sweetheart, very caring person, will not give up until the situation is taken care of and she is very connected to people in the C.H. community – I’m sure will be a big help! May Hashem help all that need it!
