Crown Heights Volunteers to Help Hurricane Victims

Although Crown Heights made it through Hurricane Sandy relatively unscathed, many of the surrounding areas have been left devastated. In response, many Crown Heights residents have come together to help.

Donations are now being accepted at Wine by the Case, 511 Empire Blvd., every day from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Every day, early in the morning, volunteers will be driving the donations to areas in Brooklyn and the greater New York City area that are in need.

Items of need include:

• Batteries
• Food
• Clothes
• Lighters and matches
• Diapers and wipes

Many families are going to be left without electricity for the next 7 to 10 days, making it even more important to help them as quickly as possible.
