Wats the holiday ?

Do you really need to know? It’s when they imagine Mary (you-know-who’s mother) did an Eliyohu Hanovi and went flying up to heaven instead of dying like normal people. Why they think this happened is another question.

In Australia, it is not even known!

Sure it is. If you were Catholic or Orthodox you’d know about it. Since you’re not, and since they don’t have this alternate-side system where every religion has to be given a few days on the street cleaning calendar, why would you?
(In NY, originally only we Jews got our religious holidays exempted, since we can’t move cars on yomtov. But then all the other religions got jealous and demanded their days too, even though none of them forbid driving. In Australia, although alternate-side exists in some places, this hasn’t happened.)

Never heard of Aug 15th as a Goyisheh holiday, never heard of any celebrating or anything. All I know is Dec 25th & around Pesach time they got something called Eastr, thats it. Aug 15th wats the big day ?

You wouldn’t expect to have heard of all of their holidays, any more than you expect them to have heard of most of ours. If you have one of those calendars that tells you every holiday of every religion and country, then you would know about them, otherwise you only know about the really big ones.
(I once had a non-Jewish boss who saw on his calendar that the next day was Lag Bo’omer, and assumed I would not be at work. Our deal was that I got all Jewish holidays; how was he to know that Lag Bo’omer didn’t count? I could have taken advantage of his ignorance and taken the next day off, and he would never have known; but I didn’t feel that would be right.)
