  I think the youngest is 18

  possibly because women aren’t supposed to until they are done having children, they may need a second one to fall back on during pregnancy.

  Women can and do donate and it doesn’t harm their child bearing abilities or put them at risk. That’s what a doctor told me. He also said that if one kidney goes to disease, then both go, so it shouldn’t really be an issue if 1 goes, because the other would have went as well.

  Also, who says she shares her husband’s blood type? And even if she does, a doctor must render a potential donor as eligible to donate because if they’re not healthy, they won’t accept the offer to donate.

  any blood type can donate, but there are many other things that have to match.
  There are currently several frum yidden in need of a kidney transplant. If you are in good health, please get tested. You could literally save a life.
