Why don’t you print Rabbi Schwei’s letter? Rabbi Heller gave a speech in Collel last year agreeing to Rabbi Schwei.

So whats the difference now between a modern orthodox gathering and a Lubavitch one? The organizers should go to a few kiddushim in Young Israels on Long Island to get a feel for what happens at a mixed "family" seating event where there is lechaim and socializing. What a busha for Crown Heights and Lubavitch that we have sunk this low.

zalmy maybe you have family that you can go to
but my family doesnt, even though i have so much family in crown hights and to me thats more of a busha

Its getting troublesome in here … the issue – amongst the others – will blow apart the achdus we have all worked so hard to achieve. Achdus created inch by inch, centimeter by centimeter, block by block, family by family, party by party.

After all the actions and effort of so many people, both those involved and those not involved, THIS has to happen!!!!

How will we explain to our children – and children’s children – how we let an opportunity like this slip through our fingers? NO, not just an opportunity – a Historic Opportuniy! YES! That’s it! History was about to be made .. it’s been evolving for several months – with blood, sweat and tears…and now.. THIS!

YOU! How can you remain silent at a time like this? Have you not learned today’s Hayom Yom, and the Rambam? Did you not realise this would occur?? Did not the Rebbe speak countless times about all issues and answers, both those that have been found and those that are yet to be found?!

Did you really think you can sit on your couch, in the comfort of your home, and just sit back, relax, take a drink and say "Sholom Olie Nafshi" and the walls won’t shake??!!!

Well, now this happens. And it’s because of people like you. And me. And the neighbor. And the people next block. And the snoozer in the back of the shul that is always late.

So… So you ask… WHAT NOW?? Efsher Lisakain??? Well, according to MBD yes, but what does He know!?

The main thing is: Things can go from good to bad.. or from good to better. And hey, some days it’s a toss up.. a moment blowin’ in the wind, a cold soup on a hot day, or vice versa – but I digress.

    The Really Important Issue is:

HAVE A WONDERFUL JOYOUS PURIM, AND CHILL!!!! NO HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!!! TAKE IT CALM!!!!! BE HAPPY, DON’T WORRY!!!! AND … EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT !!!!

    Sweet Blessings to you all.

it’s good to see thal all those who went against the rebbe by recreating the "(n)tzigim" are all suffering!

w/o the tzigim there would be no fight in this issue b/c…(i will not dwelve in the details)

Next time listen to the rebbe.

  • E.S.

Rabbi Groner did not addressed this event with mix seatings. Rabbi Groner has is own familly ba"h and seats every year and farbrengs with them every Purim in is own house or by one of his children. And if anyone will later say that he was there this year please know that Rabbi Groner is not in town he is in Argentina farbrenging there with Anash. But no surprise when someone has no problem of saying sheker everything is valid. NOTE: B"H this time there is no picture of the Rebbe.

Excuse me – but in other words what you are saying (you might not even notice it) that mixed crowds is ahavas yisroel???!!!!! Our Rebbe worked very hard on the measures of tznius, SEPERATING men & women by public events – and at the same time emphasizing the Inyan on Ahavas Yisroel which is love for every jew – and you are saying (in the name of the Rebbe) that family seating at such an event "is a great ahavas yisroel" – this in an embarrasment! Cut your machshavos zoros, don’t share them with others (in a "frame" of "chassidish" – chitas & rambam of yours…) and have a happy Purim.
And, by the way, Fleishig, is very good if you kosher it right vechulu. Milchig is, as well, something very good if you do it right – Cholov Yisroel. But Milchig & Fleishig together, with all your chumros – does NOT make it Parve, only TREIF!! take this as an example to the above.

  • Falsh pshat

The posuk says mishpocho Umishpocho which means Family and family not families and families (plural) and rashi expalins that each family should be together but to learn from there that FAMILIES should get together is FALSE. Knowing the organizer if he gave the exagerated number 1000 probably he is desperate for people.

  • ANON,

you guys up there are all funny!this whole crazy issue is pathetic Rubashkin said very bluntly that HE didn’t begin this whole event, it was always there just the same way and it was always FINE. I don’t know about this and i may be wrong but by aLOT of the lubavitch dinner/fundraisers/events….theres mixed..s/t seating or mainly the smoregesboardes and what happens there is millions times worse than anything that ever happened there .WHY THE SUDDEN AWAKENED ENTHUSIASIM TO DO THE” RIGHT ” THING? well i figure, who Does know the correct thing to do? Fort anyone that would say YES than you’ll know you’re full of it because no one can know the real correct thing, SO good night and smile and have a gr8 purim.! and PLEASE DONT MAKE MORE POLITICS!!

according to halacha mixed gatherings are strictly forbbiden. The idea of achdus was beautiful but should not have come before strict halacha.
