Photo: Chosid Visits Western Wall After Liberation

On today’s date, 28 Iyar, in 1967, Israeli forces liberated Har Habyis in the Miraculous Six-Day War. Masses of Jews thronged to the Western wall, which had been off limits for 19 years. Seen in this photograph is Rabbi Zushe Dvortz, of Kfar Chabad, awaiting his turn to enter the narrow passage that still separated the wall from an adjacent row of houses.

There you go, proof in the pudding. The western wall, then known as the wailing wall, then the KOTEL, is the Jew’s ownership, and also the Temple Mount, East Jerusalem section is also belonging to Yiddin. We are free to walk into Arab neighbourhoods just like they are free to walk on Jaffo Street and Ben Yehuda.
