From Days Gone By: Lag Ba’omer, 1987
These two photos were taken during the Lag Ba’omer parade in 1987. In one photo, the ‘elders’ of Crown Heights sit in a designated area behind a police barricade to watch the parade. In the other, the yellow school bus that would take students to the Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway, decked out in signs and banners, travels along the parade route.

I think it was Yitzy Hecht (Union St) with his 6th grade class. I was on the bus with the rest of my class.
awacs
You’re right – it could have been Rebbi Hecht. Or, it could have been me (I drove one year – I was right behind an army tank, and was warned not to get too close).
