Moments before the Sullivan County region got drenched from a massive downpour, the dark skies began lighting up in with flashes of lightening. Our photographer managed to capture some of the amazing light show put on by mother nature.

#5- shots of lighting are taken in “bulb” mode. Ie. Shutter open till the action, then closed. Film usually allows for longer exposure, as the digital sensors usually blow out sooner.

Re 5 & 7:
That is correct, I shot these pictures in Bulb Mode, which basically leaves the shutter open for as long as I hold it down. The aperture value was set at 7.1, and the ISO sensitivity was at 800.
The shots were done handheld while resting on a fence for stability.

Thanks–I think that as a standard some of Ansel adams pictures are a great set of prints to try to emulatre in quality and taste.
