Picture Of the Day – 8th Grade’s Siyum Perek

Oholei Torah’s Rabbi Borenstein’s 8th Grade had completed yesterday Perek Bais of Maseches Megilah, and in that honor they made a outdoor Barbeque (in sub 40 degree weather!), the Bochurim enjoyed Hotdogs in buns and Hamburgers.

"Sub" 40F just means below 40F. (the word sub means below, so like when you say its sub zero outside your saying its below 0F)

where are the mothers of these children who are outside without coats in such weather? it drives me nuts to see bochurim running in the streets without coats.

I agree witha concerned parent. I’m not from crown Heights but I’ve heard alot about what a wonderful teacher Rabbi Borenstein is. Being a wonderful teacher not only means to nourish the body and soul but to be meticulusly careful on safety. I’m not a mother yet but teach children and when I see children not properly taken care off it pains me. It takes 2 seconds to just say, " Boys before we go outside please put on your coats and close them."

Mazal Tov to the Bochurim, may they grow even more in the holy gates of Torah.

in reply to "concerned parent" please don’t go nuts on these bochurim… look at the bright side! they’re warm with the fire of Torah in them (besides trust me cooking up those hot dogs and burgers are quite warming!) However as a parent, it would still be a good idea to wear a coat (for all those bochurim reading!!!)

Lots of success Begashmiyus Uberuchniyus, May the Torah you learn (by heart) always kindle your heart in the true path of kindness and good insperation (on to others) and may it lead to the revelation of Moshiach Tzidkeinu! Lots of Brachos

Do Only Good! (check out the blog sometime it has some interesting stuff!)

  • TO: A Concerned Parent

You Wrote: " Where are the mothers of these children?"

First of all no mothers were invited to the siyum…. why should they be? If a boy decides he is not cold and doesn’t want to where his coat….how is his mother supposed to control that? Should she be trailing after her children the whole day nagging them to put there coat on and tie their shoes and tuck their shirt in? A 14 year old boy should have enough seichel to wear his coat if it’s cold and I see no reason why you blame the mothers…..you must have some issues with your own mother…. or wife

  • glad parent

Thank you Rabbi Borenstein and Rabbi Lustig, for allowing the ‘bochurim’ to have such a nice and "warm" siyum.

May they grow in Torah , Chasidus and Yiras Shamayim.

for all the "worried" parents; dont worry ok & it was not so cold it was only 40 degrees.
c`mon it was not that bad!!!!!!! Its ok if your worried about your son being cold make sure he puts on a coat and let us worry about ourselves.
Thank you for your concern however i think we can decide for ouselves if we need our coats or not. By the way thank you Rabbi Borenstein that bar-b-q was really awesome thanx!
