Melech Basode: Ohr Menachem Boys Spend a Day of Kedusha in Great Outdoors

With the streets of the Shchuna filled with the annual Labor Day festivities, Cheder Ohr Menachem once again put the focus where it belongs—on keeping our kinderlach Heilig and Rein, and protecting the special kedusha and taharas hanesh of a Yiddishe child.

Instead of taking the day off, the Cheder arranged a full day of Torah, Mivtzoim and Niflaos HaBorei. The boys left early in the morning, with some returning home only as late as 10:00 PM, after everything was completely cleared.

The day began with Shacharis at the Bukharian Shul in Queens, followed by a yummy breakfast and Shiurim with their Melamdim. The boys then headed to a local park for Mivtzoim, head and sports, before continuing to apple picking and lunch of tuna sandwiches.

The highlight of the day was a hike to the top of the mountain, taking in the dam and waterfall and seeing firsthand the מה רבו מעשיך ה׳. The day concluded with a sumptuous BBQ, prepared by the talmidim of Kita Zayin.

A special Yasher Koach to the Melamdim who joined and gave of themselves throughout the day: Rabbi Dovber Brisky, Rabbi Leibel Gurevitch, Reb Aryei Eidelman and Hatomim Levi Nemirovski. A special thank you as well to Rabbi Mendel Baron, Rabbi Yehoshua Lefkovitch and Rabbi Yochanan Twerski, who joined for part of the day.

Acharon Chaviv, a tremendous Yasher Koach to the Menahalim, Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz and Rabbi Yossi Overlander, for arranging and leading the entire day with such care and mesirus nefesh.

A beautiful day of Torah, Chassidishkeit, Mivtzoim, achdus and Niflaos HaBorei—giving our kinderlach a true Yiddishe and Chassidishe experience, as we prepare to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu מיד ממש.
