A Look at This Year’s Meron Lag B’Omer Celebration

In tribute to the Tanna HaEloki Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, tens of thousands gathered in Meron for the annual Lag B’Omer hilula, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, unity, and deep spiritual connection.

Photographer Dov Ber Hechtman, who documented the official events of the hilula, has released a sweeping gallery capturing the energy and emotion of the celebration. His images highlight the central moments of the night, from the traditional hadlakah (bonfire lighting) ceremonies to the spirited dancing that continued late into the night.

The photos offer a vivid glimpse into the electrifying scene at Meron — thousands singing, dancing, and celebrating in honor of Rashbi, whose legacy continues to inspire generations. The towering flames of the hadlakah, a hallmark of Lag B’Omer, illuminated the mountainside as participants joined together in song and celebration.

From heartfelt tefillos to joyous circles of dance, the gallery encapsulates the unique spirit that defines Lag B’Omer in Meron each year — a day long cherished by Chassidim and Jews worldwide.
