Arrest Made Near 770 After Shoplifter Recognized By Shomrim Volunteer

The NYPD made an arrest in front of 770 Eastern parkway Wednesday after an eagle-eyed Shomrim volunteer recognized him as a wanted shoplifter.
According to a person familiar with the incident, the man had shoplifted items from a local store on Sunday, and the owner had filed a police report and notified Crown Heights Shomrim.
Armed with a picture of the shoplifter, a Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer quickly put the pieces together when he recognized him on the streets of Crown Heights.
The police were called and the man was quickly placed under arrest for the crime.
