Gallery: Lubavitcher Yeshiva Hosts Nittel Nacht Chess Tournaments
With no homework and no opportunity to learn with parents on Nittel Nacht, talmidim from all grades of Tomchei Temimim gathered for an exciting evening of chess.
Inspired by the well-known tradition of the Frierdiker Rebbe playing chess with the Rebbe on Nittel Nacht, the Yeshiva organized tournaments for each division, ensuring every talmid had the chance to participate.
In the youngest division Kitas Alef through Gimmel a fierce competition culminated with the top four talmidim earning the opportunity to challenge Kita Ches chess master Sruly Sarytchev. Sruly faced all four simultaneously, overcoming the pressure of both the board and the clock to win every game.
Throughout the evening, the games were filled with tension and excitement. The event concluded with a Minyan Maariv before the bochurim returned home, inspired by the camaraderie and tradition of the night.
