Menorah Parade Spreads Light of Chanukah in Queens

Some 45 vehicles took part in the 2nd Annual Car Menorah Parade in Queens, New York. Organized in collaboration with local Chabad centers and Yeshiva hundreds of Menorah kits were distributed and the light of Chanukah was spread.

The Parade, which was arranged by Yeshivas T.T. Lubavitch of Queens, together with neighborhood Shluchim and local Jewish communities, was directed by the Menahel of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Mendel Scharf and organized by Temimim Yoel Vogel and Levi Paul – alumni Shluchim of the Yeshiva.

Over 45 vehicles paraded through the major streets in central Queens (Queens blvd, Main St, 108th st and Union Turnpike) with the help of the NYPD of 112th and 107th Precincts. The Parade was culminated with the Grand public Menorah lighting of Chabad of Rego Park, directed by Rabbi Eli Bloch. After the parade the Yeshiva students hit the streets, handing out menorahs, as well as visited locals at home, continuing in spreading the joy of Chanukah.

Organizers said “Baruch Hashem this [parade] was a major Persumei Nissa and a big Kiddish Hashem.”

The Parade was a joint project of Yeshivas T.T. Lubavitch of Queens, Chabad of Forest Hills, Chabad of Rego Park, Chabad of Flushing, Chabad association for Georgian Jews and Boukharian Jewish community.
