After 32nd Year, Kiddushim Continue to Expand

This year marks the 32nd year that Nachum Markowitz has been hosting his grand Kiddushim in front of 770, benefiting thousands of guests and locals alike with a bite to eat and something to drink after davening.

Long a staple of Tishrei with the Rebbe, this year’s activities are unprecedented, as Markowitz has extended the Kiddushim to include Rosh Hashana, Tzom Gedalyia, the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah, all of Sukkos, Simchat Torah, Shmini Atzeres and Shabbos Bereishis, in accordance with the Rebbe’s directive to him that “it be a continuous initiative that increases.”

For Sukkos, two fully stocked trucks and overflow pallets of food lining the Eastern Parkway sidewalks will be feeding and refreshing thousands of hungry mispalelim throughout Yomtov

One of Markowitz’ sponsors told CrownHeights.info, “it’s a kavod to be a part of this project; Nachum’s Ahavas Yisroel is an inspiration and as satisfying as watching guests having what to eat.”

The Motzei Yom Kippur break-fast, which was sponsored by Rabbi Don Yoel Levy of OK Kashrus, was larger than ever.

As the project marks its thirty second year, the rest of Tishrei, especially Shmini Atzeres and Simchat Torah, are expected to exceed previous years, thanks to the generous sponsors backing the project.
