With heartfelt sorrow, let us seek consolation from our Torah, a Torah of Life, with redoubled observance of Positive Mitzvah 184, as enumerated by the Rambam in Sefer HaMitzvos. “We are commanded to remove all obstacles and sources of danger from all places in which we live: that is to build walls or parapets around roofs, cisterns, trenches, and the like, so as not to fall into them or fall from them. Likewise, all dangerous structures must be rebuilt or repaired so as to remove all danger.”

Lest there be any doubt in the matter, we must all be aware that the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, the law in New York State, requires a fence around all pools, public and private, with no opening larger than 4 in. in diameter. All gates in these fences must be self-closing, self-latching and open away from the pool. The latches must be installed on the pool side of the gate if less than 54 in. from the ground. Additionally, any pool installed or substantially modified since 2006, must be equipped with pool alarms that will sense entry into the water.

We must do all we can to stay safe—it’s a Mitzvah!

Faivel you are a self centered heart less fellow. at when family is grieving the pain that NO ONE should ever have to do, to bury their son especially a young child. it is not the time or the place to give eitzes. keep them to ur self. 2nd of all are you doubting the will.ways of hashem the only true judge.

please have some rachmanus. demand that hashem, should send moshiash it is is obligation as the rebbe said so many times.

    vda”l.

  • I'm sorry....

I agree with # 6! Yes, we are all grieving, but this is VITAL INFO for all those that have a swimming pool!Like I heard someone say: “A Swimming pool especially in a bungalow colony is the MALACH HAMOVES!!!!!” Moshiach Now!!! & keep safe in the water!!!
