Cheder Chabad of Monsey Boys Graduation
This past Wednesday night, Cheder Chabad of Monsey held its second boys 8th grade graduation! Cheder principal Rabbi Wolowik welcomed the gathered crowd and introduced Ruvi Litzman, a talmid of the 8th grade, to act as MC.
Ruvi called upon fellow talmidim Mendel Konikov to recite the Rebbe’s kapitel tehillim and Mendel Bogomilsky to recite kapitel chof.
The dean and founder of the Cheder, Rabbi Yisroel Shusterman was then called upon to read a letter of the Rebbe that was sent to graduates in 5734. He then translated the letter and shared a few personal words of his feelings of seeing the second class of Cheder graduate start in Nursery and maturing into talmidim hamesaymin in kitah ches.
The Moroh D’asrah of Kehilas Chabad in Monsey, Rabbi Boruch Lesches shared with the graduates some very warm and personal words on what is expected from the talmidim as they grow up, highlighting the importance of the talmidim helping each other.
Dovid Labkowsky then recited a d’var torah based on parshas hashavua stressing the importance for the talmidim to have a positive effect on their environment.
Mendel Groner represented the class in sharing what the 8th grade meant to him and how the faculty and hanhala of Cheder affected him.
Eli Noam Mensseh represented the class in talking about what the Cheder experience meant to him, highlighting the influence of his rebbis starting in Kitah Aleph and how they helped him try to be an ehrlicher Yid.
Mendel Kroll expressed gratitude to Cheder personnel on behalf of his class.
The class then surprised their beloved Rebbe, Rabbi Yossi Soble with a gift that they bought for him for all his personal time that he invested in each talmid individually.
The Boy’s Principal, Rabbi Avrohom Wolowik and the General Studies Principal, Mrs. Simonne Nenner then distributed to all students the diplomas and a specially inscribed Tanya. A beautiful yearbook was also distributed to the talmidim. They raised money for ads in the book and used the profit for a fun and meaningful graduation trip.
