Op-Ed: Why You Must Not Sit This One Out

By now many of us have had enough. We have heard countless times online, on social media, and on WhatsApp, to get out and vote for Lee Zeldin.
Obviously all these messages are very important. We must do our job and get out and vote for our friend Lee Zeldin. We understand that our public safety is at stake. We understand how important law enforcement is to our daily lives, especially when antisemitism is so clearly on the rise. We understand that the future of our children’s chinuch is at stake. For those reasons alone we know that Lee Zeldin is the only option for us.
However, there is one more crucial reason why you must vote. By voting for Lee Zeldin in the NY election on Tuesday, you will unequivocally be saving your children’s lives. Quite simply, a vote for Hochul is a vote that is endangering the very physical well-being of your precious children.
The CDC, the Centers for Disease Control, has recently voted to put the COVID-19 vaccine on the childhood immunization schedule starting for the next school year. What does that mean? Once the CDC does that, each individual state governor is given the unilateral authority to decide if the State will mandate the Covid vaccine & Covid booster shots in order for children to attend school. There should be NO DOUBT in your mind that Governor Hochul will mandate it for both public & private schools alike.
She has been asked repeatedly about this and she refuses to answer. At her only debate with Lee Zeldin, she went so far as to say that she would “do it all over again,” referring to all the disastrous decisions and edicts she made regarding Covid mandates. As Lieutenant Governor she closed our schools and our stores. She masked our children and delayed their development. She forced many of our children’s teachers to get the covid vaccine or loose their job. And she would do it all again?!
If Hochul God forbid gets into office, you will be forced to give this covid vaccine to your precious children. If you choose not to give the Covid vaccine to your children, they will legally NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND SCHOOL.
If that happens, you will be forced to make a choice between your livelihood, your children’s Chinuch, and their health. Who will stay with your children if they aren’t allowed to go to school? How will you educate them? This is a vaccine that Republican governors of many states have already said they will not mandate for their schools. They know it has not been adequately tested and they know that it does not prevent Covid.
Lee Zeldin has forcefully stated that he will Not mandate any covid vaccine for anybody. Not for school children, not for city employees, and not for anyone else.
In this election, a decision to stay home is a decision to endanger the health and well-being of our children.
God willing everything will workout.
We need to have Emunah & Bitachon in Hashem. Add in Davening, Learning, Tehillim & Ahavas Yisroel.
However, we also need to do our Hishtadlus by going out to vote. If you care about your children’s Yeshiva, there is no excuses not to vote this time around.
Vote Lee Zeldin for Republican Governor.
As well as vote for the Republican candidates down the ballot, as the NY statewide elections Tuesday, are winnable races. They have all proven to be proud Supporters of our Yeshivas and our communities.
