NYC to Implement Citywide Speed Limit for e-Bikes Next Month
A new speed limit is coming to the five boroughs, but not for four-wheeled vehicles.
Starting Oct. 24, New York City will implement a 15 mph speed limit for e-bikes, e-scooters and pedal-assist commercial bicycles. The new protocol will match the same limits that currently apply to stand-up e-scooters.
“This new 15 miles-per-hour speed limit for e-bikes is about keeping New Yorkers safe while continuing to keep our city moving,” said New York City Mayor Adams in a statement.
