MTA Subway, Bus Fare Increase Delayed Past August
Subway and bus fares will increase by 4% this year, but it won’t be by August as usual.
The MTA’s budget includes a 4% fare hike, as it has every two years, bringing the cost of a single trip to $3. It was originally scheduled to happen in August but will be delayed, MTA Chair Janno Lieber said at a board meeting Wednesday.
