New York State is Drawing New Assembly Districts, Brooklyn Will Have One Hearing To Express Your Opinion

We have new Assembly district lines that went into effect as of this year, and in two years, they will change again. There will be just ONE hearing scheduled in Brooklyn, and it will be February 15th at 4:00pm at Medgar Evers College. Don’t miss your chance to have your voice heard.

New York State Independent Redistricting Commission (nyirc.gov) –  REGISTER HERE for a fast and easy way to send in comments by email.  After logging in, go to PARTICIPATE section and click on Brooklyn, (Medgar Evans College has parking issues, tends to be crowded and you can send in comments just as well by email.)

“Unity” Redistricting Maps – Center for Law and Social Justice (clsj.org)  –  Center for Law and Social Justice “CLSJ” proposals and detailed info on redistricting from other interest groups (non-Jewish interest groups)  that may not be in line with Jewish voting interests, but is nevertheless useful as a learning tool of how the Jewish community will be effected.

    CH is similar to what Rabbi David Neiderman said of Williamsburg in the article.
    CH is a “community of interest” that should not be splintered- so the 43rd should expand eastward to Remsen VIllage, have a western boundary at New York Ave, South down to Church and North to Eastern Pkwy. These boundaries would still produce a Black majority voting bloc, so why not be fair and equitable to all ?
