NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan Retiring
NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan, the highest ranking uniformed police officer in the NYPD, is retiring, sources familiar with the move told the Daily News.
The move, expected to take place Thursday or Friday, comes amid rumors that have swirled for days about a shake-up in the NYPD’s top brass. Dermot Shea will stay on as the NYPD commissioner.
Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison is expected to be Monahan’s successor, sources said.
