Amazon Ad Covers NYC Subway in Nazi Symbology

In an advertising campaign ahead of the premier of it’s new show, “The Man in the High Castle,” Amazon plastered the New York City subway 42nd street shuttle in Nazi-like symbols and Imperial Japan insignia.

From The JTA:

A New York City subway has been covered with the Nazi insignia in an ad promotion for a new Amazon series.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s highly trafficked 42nd Street shuttle is covered in the Nazi and Imperial Japan insignias to promote “The Man in the High Castle,” a show that imagines an alternate history in which the Axis powers win World War II after exploding a nuclear device on Washington, D.C.

The 260 poster ads include the Nazi Reichsadler eagle but do not contain any swastikas.

What’s the problem with it? They’re advertising a show; how is this inappropriate for that purpose? What better way is there to do it?

  • write to amazon!

tweet, facebook and use all other social media to contact them. Flood their inbox and their phone lines. I just emailed them. Please log your disappointment too.

  • Amazon Pulls Nazi Ads from NYC Subway

Amazon had asked for the shuttle train advertisements, but not the posters, to be removed.
Make a fuss. the posters also must be removed immediately!

    • No Need

There is no need or justification for pulling the posters too. These are adverts, not propaganda. It’s a TV series adaptation of a book published in 1962! They need to be able to market themselves somehow,

there are people who would take part but don’t always know how to reach out to media and any source which should be contacted. someone please *spell* it out for everyone so that maximum of people can take part.
    thankyou

  • rubbish

It’s a show not neo-Nazis for god sake. they have a show and they make money off it.
they aren’t starting this propaganda pro Hitler.
    seriously!!

We aren’t slaves. We always move on. So Amazon feels comfortable. It’s the least of our problems.

Their next show will re-imagine the civil war, with the South coming out victorious and city buses will be draped with confederate flags to get the word out, promise.

    You heard it here first.

I’ve seen the promos on television–the show looks lame and appears to cater to the tastes of the bad elements of society. I can find better things to do with my time and money.

  • It's actually a nice show

Only started watching it because you posted it here and I’ve really been enjoying it
