Again: Snow Strands Subway Riders All Night

NEW YORK [AP] — Dozens of passengers spent the night huddled in subway cars after the snowstorm that blanketed the northeast stranded their train in Brooklyn’s Coney Island station.

Passenger Eva Mahoney says she and other riders were routed to the distant station because signals were malfunctioning on other lines. Then the Metropolitan Transportation Authority suspended service, stranding the train from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The MTA says it suspended service because it was afraid passengers might get stuck between stations. It said it had intended to use the empty train to clear snow from tracks later in the morning.

Wow this is crazy. And the MTA wants another fare hike. How stupid can they be??? Just stop the trains in the stations and let the people out. I was once stuck on an escalator for 5 hours. Then B’H it started to work again so I was able to get home on time for shachris :)

    to Big ben :
Stuck on an escalator? How can that happen?

And they were not stranded.I read that these riders chose to be there.Rather than to go out in the storm.Since there was no other way home.(Buses were suspended.

Did you not see the smile at the end? Did you not realize he was being funny? Did you not understand how he was trying to justify his absence at shacharis in a humoros manner?
