BDE: Mr. Sheldon Lisbon, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Mr. Sheldon Lisbon OBM, a resident of Bal Harbor, Florida. He passed away this past Thursday.
Born in a DP Camp in Germany after the Holocaust, he immigrated with his parents to Worcester, Massachusetts. He studied at Yeshivas Achei Temimim under the guidance of Rabbi Hershel Fogelman.
Mr. Lisbon was a devoted teacher for over 50 years, starting in the Washington DC public school system and more recently in Miami at Bais Yaakov and in LEC. His love for his students and true care for each one changed the lives of many for the better. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Miriam Lisbon, son Dennis Lisbon and his family, and his daughter Julie Schreiber and her family. He is also survived by his brothers Rabbi Binyamin Lisbon and Rabbi Elchonon Lisbon and sister Mrs. Ruchama Thaler.
The family is sitting Shiva until Friday in Miami and in Baltimore.
