Rabbi Levitansky is a real cool cat,
He wears a baseball cap instead of a hat…

He davens Shacharis in 5 minutes flat,
Mincha Maariv even faster than that…

    AD MOSAI?!?!?!?!

  • Rabbi Cunin

    Dear Shluchim,

This morning, our fellow Shliach, Rov and dear friend hoRav Avrohom
haLevi Levitansky, was “oloh b’seorah hashomaimo.” The Levaya is
scheduled for tomorrow afternoon to allow for family members from
outside the country to honor him. Rabbi Levitansky will be buried in
Chabad’s Mount Olives Cemetery at 7231 East Slauson Avenue in the
City of Commerce, where his mother and brother were also laid to rest.

Rabbi Levitansky was the first “Shliach Oseh Shliach” in the history
of Chabad-Lubavitch and the Rebbe’s Shlichus. Together with his
Rebbetzin, yibodel l’chaim toivim, he tirelessly dedicated his entire
life to the Rebbe’s mission. His incredible “akshonus” will
undoubtedly join forces with the Rebbe and his Chassidim to push
HaKodosh Boruch Hu to send us the Rebbe and make an immediate end to
the Golus — even before “hokitzu v’ranenu shoichnei ofor,” so there
will be no need for a Levaya.

The greatest tribute we can give to Rabbi Levitansky is to strengthen
the Rebbe’s Shlichus to bring about the Geluah. Tomorrow’s Kinus
Hashluchos in Glendale will be dedicated to honor Rabbi Levitansky’s
legacy. The Vaad haKinus and Rabbi Simcha Backman have arranged for
chartered coaches to leave the Kinus Hashluchos so participants can
attend the funeral and return to the Kinus to make the biggest
shturem of “Ad Mosai!” to our suffering in these last, bitter moments
    of Golus.

“Bizchus noshim tzidkonios nigalu avoiseinu mimitzrayim”: The
incredible urgency of the cry of all the Shluchos to bring about
“kumen tzu furen mit ale sforim mit Moshiach tzuzamen” — the
redemption of the Rebbe’s books, writings and personal effects with
the coming of Moshiach — will bring about the immediate Geulah with
the Rebbe leading us to the Bais Hamikdosh Hashlishi Now!

Rabbi Levitansky was like a father and a mentor to most of us (if not all).

We just heard of the passing of R. Levitansky a’h. This man was very modest but in fact he was a big talmid chacham. I remember his mother a’h kvelling that when R. Levitansky was a bochur in yeshiva, his future father-in-law came to the Rosh Yeshiva and asked him who was the best bochur, and so he made a shidduch with R. Levitansky for his daughter… this story used to give his mother such nachas. He was a big mashpia on us when we lived in Venice, too. What a ba’al chesed he was. He will be remembered fondly and sorely missed!

Rabbi Levitansky was a gentleman of the highest order in every sense of the word. His love of G-d and His people was one of my early moments in Judaism, his wisdom and indomitable faith I know to have saved lives. his wit was too much.

As I listened to the prayers at the Levaya this afternoon, I found myself listening for the Rabbi’s interruption to explapin what we were hearing and to slow it down to let all of us catch up.

I am still listening for it.

To his spectacular wife and those of his children with whom we are acquainted the deepest condolences and affection. You are all reflections of this great man. Wear the mantles well. You have our support

I am sure that the stories will abound of Rabbi Levitansky’s Chesed and caring. Here’s one of mine…

I was blessed to have a connection with Rabbi Levitansky some twenty years ago. We lost touch and a couple years later he met me on a trip to NY for the Shluchim Convention. He could tell that I was going through a rough time so he invited me over to talk. That talk became a farbrengen that lasted all night.

I will never forget the words and advice that he shared with me – but even more – I will never forget how much it meant to me that someone who I barely knew cared so much for me that he was willing to spend all night on his trip helping me. I don’t think that I ever thanked him…although, I don’t think he would have accepted any thanks if I had tried.

His soul is bound with souls of the thousands upon thousands who he touched in significant and meaningful ways.

Thank you Rabbi Levitansky – I will try to pass on what you have taught us through my actions as well.
