Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Reb Bentzion Shagalov, 92, OBM

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Reb Bentzion Shagalov, OBM, a longtime member of the Lubavitch community in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Jerusalem. He was 92 years old.

Reb Bentzion served for many years as the dedicated Gabai of the Lubavitch Shul in Ramat Shlomo, which is a replica of 770.

Reb Bentzion was the son of Reb Yitzchok Elchonon Shagalov, HYD, and “Bubbe Mariasha,” OBM, as was brought up in Soviet Russia in the spirit of Mesiras Nefesh.

Following his marriage, Reb Bentzion and his wife settled in England, where he was very successful in his business endeavors. He settled in Ramat Shlomo soon after it was built, and was well-known as a Baal Tzedakah and Gemilus Chasadim.

He is survived by his children: Shaindy Wilhelm (UK), Rivkah Tenenbaum (Crown Heights), Leah Zilberstrom (Jerusalem, Israel), Menachem Shegalov (Crown Heights), Yosef Shegalov (Minnesota), Moshe Shegalov (Crown Heights) and Yisroel Leib Shegalov (California).

The Levaya took place today, Friday, in Jerusalem.
