Boruch Dayan Ha’emes: Mrs. Dorit Giro, OBM

With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Dorit Giro, OBM, a mother of seven and long-time resident of Crown Heights, at the age of 45. Mrs. Giro succumbed to a severe infection, and returned her soul to its maker last night. She is the sister of Itzik Benabo, owner of the Kol-Tuv and Empire Kosher supermarkets.

The supermarkets are currently closed as the owner attends his sister’s funeral and burial.

Dorit is survived by her husband, Ronen Giro, and their seven children, as well as her siblings and parents.

The levaya will be passing 770 at 12:00pm today; she will be buried at the Old Montiforie cemetery in Queens.

The family will be sitting Shiva at her home, 1365 Carroll St. [corner Kingston Ave.] Apt. 3CC.

    Lets not all get carried away with the fear of just dying of infections. Mrs gero was unfortunately sick for years and succumbed to her sickness. This being said ……the above shouldve just stated untimely passing …..either the truth or the less info the better but people have enough these days to loose sleep over and the thought of a perfectly healthy women dying over an infection is not the case. May hashem give her kind family and all the benabous only good.

    Only the good………..Its definitely sad but can you not just offer your condolences and leave the family alone; this platform is not to expose nor dissect..
    obviously the family does not want to go into details and in all probability her death was caused by an infection resulting from her illness – enough said
