Matzos for the Prime Minister

On the heels of forming the 33rd Knesset, Lubavitcher askonim visited the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his office and gave him Matzos. They also informed him that the Rebbes birthday is this week, to which he responded “the Rebbe’s directives still guide me”.

The visit took place today, Monday, with Rabbis Levi Edrei and Zalman Wolf visiting the prime minister in his Jerusalem office just moments before the new Knesset was sworn in.

Also present for the meeting was Mrs. Sara Netanyahu along with her sons Yair and Avner.

Edrei told the prime minister that this Friday will be the Rebbe’s birthday to which he responded about the challenges this new government will face and added “I repeat to myself the speciall message that I heard from the Rebbe about the United Nations and the attitude of the world against Israel.”

Netanyahu thanked them for the Matzos  and said that they will be on his Seder table, and requested that he pass on a message to Shluchim and Lubavitchers around the world for a “Chag Pesach Kasher VeSameach”.
