Christie Aide in Bridgegate Testimony: Rabbi Annoying

A former aide to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who was charged with conspiracy in the scandal involving a lane closure on the George Washington Bridge to create traffic jams, trashed Rutgers University Rabbi Mendy Carlebach during her testimony in Federal court, calling him “annoying.”

From The Forward:

A former Chris Christie aide charged with conspiracy in the Bridgegate scandal trashed a prominent New Jersey rabbi in federal court.

Bridget Anne Kelly characterized Rabbi Mendy Carlebach, who leads a Jewish student center at Rutgers University, as something of a pest.

“He would show up at events he wasn’t invited to,” Kelly told the court on Monday. “He would want face time with the governor… Rabbi Carlebach was a very nice man. It just — it got to a point where your superiors mention to you repeatedly: Why is Rabbi Carlebach here? You start to — you question it yourself.”

Reached by the Forward, Carlebach said that he wasn’t aware of the testimony, which took place on the last day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, when observant Jews don’t use electricity.

“I only go to places where I’m invited,” Carlebach said, after hearing selections of Kelly’s statements.

She’s probably right……unfortunately, Machers with the kind of connections he has do tend to get annoying after awhile.

I remember then Bridget Kelly would call Rabbi Carlebach to come to events. She’s on trial for federal charges, and all she’s trying to do is throw everyone she knew under the bus.

  • annoying?

What’s annoying is to inconvenience thousands of commuters to get even with a mayor. Showing up at events uninvited (assuming he did) doesn’t even come close.

this is due to the war carlebach and his father are combating against MERKAZ and the head shliach of their state so that why he pop out at every event where Jewish leaders are hangs out.

““I’m the administrator of the largest Chabad House in the country. I’ve got a lot on my plate. ”
He is not listed on chabad.org so he doesn’t even run a chabad house.
