Missing Boy Found in Kiryas Joel Woods

After a frantic search that lasted over twelve hours, Shimon Zorger, the 10 year old Williamsburg boy who vanished last night from Kiryas Joel, has been located.

Zorger had been in Kiryas Joel for the day to pay a visit to his grandparents who live on Lizensk Boulevard.

“We found him,” Moses Vitriol, director of the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Patrol, told VIN News.

It was New York State Trooper Danny Harter who found the missing autistic boy in the woods near the V’Yoel Moshe school, which backs onto Lizensk Boulevard.  Zorger, who is reportedly in good condition, was found at approximately 9:50 AM and was transported to Westchester Medical Center as a precautionary measure.

Vitriol commended the State Police for their efforts in the rescue mission and pointed to a history of cooperation between the state troopers and the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Patrol.

“The village has worked hand in hand with the state police for years,” said Vitriol.  “We always have meetings and drills together.  It shows that when you work hand in hand, it really does work.  Danny Harter has been working here for years and has been good to the community.  He knows the area and really puts his heart into everything he does.”

The boy’s parents told NBC 4 New York they recently ordered a tracking device for him to wear, but it hasn’t arrived yet.

HOW DO THESE GRANDPARENTS ALLOW AN AUTISTIC BOY VISITING THEM ALONE FROM WILLIAMSBURGH TO LEAVE THEIR APARTMENT ALONE UNATTENDED??? AUTISTIC CHILDREN MUST ALWAYS BE SUPERVISED, EVEN IF MILD CASE OR EVEN ASPERGERS SYNDROME. BUT HASHEM IS ALWAYS WATCHING HIS CHILDREN.
