Can We Take Ideas from Evangelicals for Kiruv?
Screenshots from both videos display striking similarities.
What if Moses had lived in the digital age and could use social media like Facebook and Twitter? The international Jewish website Aish.com decided to answer that question, and made a funny video about it.
The following video shows how Moses, using the digital technology of today, facilitates the exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt.
This video has striking similarity to, and is apparently based on, a similar clip that appeared last December on YouTube depicting the nativity scene of the Xtian religion.

The only issues I see if you copy their “concepts” and they can latter use it as a point for further their work, which obviously would not be good.
If we are going to use their methods of advertising use of current technology to further the work of Chabad and there is no chance for the Goyim to say hey you copied us, then I truly believe that is what the Rebbe would want from us. As he was the first to use Satellite link up for Chanukah Live many years ago, it is clear to me that NOT to use technology to advance Torah would be wrong.
Why did I bother to watch this?
Aside from making Moshe look like a 20 year old, what is this video supposed to achieve? It is “modern” things like this that leave a bad taste in my mouth.
A Chossid in the works
I find it so wrong that Chabad does this stuff all the time and when Aish does a better more popular video then some of ours we go bash it!
yakov
how do you define JEALOUSY??
B4 YOU MAKE NASTY COMMENTS...

Wow! Fantastic! Now that they learned marketing from us ,Maybe Aish and the “Kiruv Movement” will take care of Sedorim and such so we can focus exclusively on Hafatzos Hamayonus” while they take care of general Yahudus.Kol Hakovoid Aish, your doing Nosei Doiraynu’s Shlichus.

I recently “liked” crownheightsinfo & hope that there isn’t petty remarks about “who’s first” & who’s best. The frierdiger rebbe, zt“l, encouraged us to help out financially Olomeinu Magazine when it was struggling even though he had a magazine called Talks & Tales. He remarked that competition in yiddishkeit is good. The Torah, my good Lubavitch & other Jewish brothers, is more than infinite. The shliach in Monsey, Simcha Werner, knew Rov Kamenetsky, Z”L, well. He said that the rov had focused his genius on the revealed aspects of Torah so much that he hadn’t had time to do as much as he wanted in Kabbalah & chassidus. Nevertheless, Rabbi Werner said, we see that he was of an almost incomprehensible stature in real Torah knowledge & truly Godly behavior. One is ignorant or unaware if they don’t see the incredible knowledge & lessons in shmuzen & sites like Aish or chabad.org. There’s NO reason we can’t love, admire, & respect each other, & always work together, share simchos & pain with each other. Nothing is more important, more than ever, to have total achdus & ahavas yisroel. Differences should be shared as a way to enjoy hearing something neat, something different. Eiloo, v’eiloo divrei ELOKIM CHAIM. God heal our wounded, avenge our martyrs, & please, please, let us have moshiach now.
love it
It’s really cute!

There is no question that we offer the best mercahndise. The problem is that we are HEIMISH, HEIMISH, HEIMISH!!
Unless we learn to have a better package (and we should leran from anybody). they will outsmart us.
Heard about the hare and the turtle tale anyone??????
sinas chinam
Why do you have to mask a good video by asih.com in language that automatically makes them seem bad?
Why does nobody ask if we are copying Xians when we put stained-glass windows in Chabad Houses?
CROWN HEIGHTS
Shluchim all do the same thing and so does Chabad.org
This video is cute and have seen many similar videos from lubavitchers using the same thing. WE ARE ALL DOING KIRUV IN OUR OWN WAY AND THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM EACH OTHER.
Milhouse
What on earth is the big deal? It was done long before Tzivos Hashem. Does nobody remember the Bible Times, or whatever it was called, which was a newspaper based on the parsha? And I’m sure the idea wasn’t new then either.

I am in touch with many in the yeshivish and MO world.
YOu should know, that we are the envy of the Jewish world. They look at chabad and say–how can we mimic their marketing skills.
thank god not in lubavich
the picture used as moses was made by a Cristine artist – if you look closely he made moshe a horn as it said “koran or ponov” –
and the mistake of the round luchos come from this picture

C-mon guys,
Okay you know what?? Every time I see the Tzivos Hashem magazine the entire thing is based of “goyish” themes, movies etc…I know it’s hard to accept, but this video is pretty darn cute and clever and we didnt come up with it. Step back, give a brava and move on with your day.
TO ALL THE SICKOS AND JEALOUS ONES!

You seriously have an inferiority complex. Too many people just like you are sick with jealousy. You need to misbatel your serious case of yeshos.
Have you seen such petty articles and bashing of the yeshiva world when chabad copies artscroll and the like!? NO! Instead of looking at it as a way to learn from each other. There are those like you who cannot stand not to be jealous. Doesn’t anyone remember the saying anymore, If you don’t got nothing good to say, don’t say it at all!
I can’t wait to see all those still complain, and even complain about my comment. And if you do, It’s a classic sign that you need to work on your middos, and learn some chassidus and APPLY IT TO YOUR LIVES!

to #13
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Chabad is generally a lot more sophisticated then the other kiruv movements.
Confused
Funny… doesn’t crownheights.info generally make their videos accessible on the main page?

Your a sicko WITH THE AGENDA IN YOUR HEAD. Seek profession help. If you can’t afford it, chazer over some chassidus and APPLY IT!
it-s just a joke!
whats all ur problems about? its just a cute clip.
to #33
Actually, he’s right. Although the Rebbe’s shitah was to support all attempts at kiruv, regardless of any politics, the fact is that competing with Lubavitch IS a key part of their agenda.
Shoshana
Sources that aish’s modus operandi is to ‘compete with Lubavitch’?
It was started by Rabbi Noach Wineberg who started multiple organizations before aish took off. For the Yeshivishe world he’s considered to be a pioneer (obviously not when you compare him to Lubavitch but that’s not the point) and this is his organization and IIRC he had yechidus with the Rebbe at least once.
In a world where so many Jews are assimilating and becoming lost, we need as many people as possible. I don’t understand these immature “us versus them” comments. Don’t you see a disconnect between that and the Rebbe’s teaching that we love all Jews? Ahavas yisroel includes yeshivishe people.d
A Chabad-Aish mixnic
I like comment 36.
