The IDF on Saturday night cleared for publication the names of three soldiers who fell in battle against Hezbollah terrorists earlier this week.

Staff Sergeant Yoav Klein, aged 21 from Herzliya, served as a soldier in the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Brigade and fell in combat in southern Lebanon.

Staff Sergeant Liav Kababia, aged 20, from Hod Hasharon, also served as a soldier in the 52nd Battalion, 401st Brigade and fell in combat in southern Lebanon.

According to an initial report by Kan News, the attack in which Klein and Kababia fell was carried out by Hezbollah as a coordinated assault involving both anti-tank missile fire and an explosive drone launched at the tank.

The incident took place during an operation by the 36th Division in the Ali Taher Ridge area, south of Nabatieh. Initial findings indicate that after the tank was hit by anti-tank fire, an armed drone penetrated the vehicle through its rear corridor, apparently carrying anti-tank munitions, and detonated inside the tank.

In the incident in which Staff Sergeant Yoav Klein and Staff Sergeant Liav Kababia fell, LTC Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon and two additional IDF soldiers whose names have not yet been cleared for publication also fell.

Staff Sergeant Nir Ben Ari served as a logistics officer in his company, and was scheduled to begin his discharge leave at the end of the month.

In the incident in which Sergeant First Class Nir Ben Ari fell, two additional IDF soldiers were severely injured, and an IDF officer was moderately injured.
