HY’D: Sgt. Rotem Yanai, 20, Killed In Drone Attack

An IDF soldier was killed and two reservists were wounded in a Hezbollah explosive drone attack in northern Israel, close to the border with Lebanon yesterday, the military announces.

The slain servicewoman is named as Sgt. Rotem Yanai, 20, a service conditions NCO in the Givati Brigade’s Rotem Battalion, from Giv’at Ada.

Two drones launched by Hezbollah exploded in a military zone on the border during the attack, according to an initial military probe.

One of the drones killed Yanai as she was running to a shelter. The second drone seriously wounded a reservist and moderately injured another.

The drones had triggered sirens in the area, as they were identified. However, they were not intercepted.
