Medically Assisted Death To Become Legal in New York

Medically assisted death will soon become legal in New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday.

In an opinion piece for the Times Union, the governor said she plans to sign the Medical Aid in Dying Act, a bill that allows terminally sick adults to “hasten the [their] death” with the help of a physician.

“I’ve met with families, doctors, and advocates. I’ve reflected on my own loss,” Hochul said in a post to X. “I believe New Yorkers deserve the option to face the end of life with dignity and comfort, with strong safeguards in place.”

    Should we be careful to make sure everyone has a form filed regarding our religious preferences for medical choices? How do we do that? Remember when there was a get everyone registered to vote? How do we do something so everyone have the right medical info that we don’t believe in this for our and family’s care?
