President Donald Trump has said that as of Friday, he will suspend all travel from Europe except the United Kingdom in a desperate effort to halt the coronavirus.
“We are responding with great speed and professionalism,” Trump said in his second Oval Office address.
Trump said there would be limited exceptions to the unprecedented thirty day travel restriction.
“There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings,” Trump said. “And these prohibitions will not only apply to the tremendous amount of trade and cargo. But various other things as we get approval, anything coming from Europe to the United States.”
