US Airforce Surveillance Plane Shot Down Over Afganistan

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the shooting down of a US Air force plane in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province Monday.
Original reports showed what appeared to be the wreckage of a small plane crashed on a snowy landscape.
Video from the the crash site make it appear that the plane was a USAF E-11A, used by the US Air force for Surveillance. A US air Force symbol can clearly be seen on the engine, preserved despite the rest of the burned out wreck.
There has not been any report who was in the aircraft at the time.
Update: Statement from the US Military – An American military plane carrying about five people crashed in eastern Afghanistan. There is no indication that the plane was shot down and the condition of the passengers is unknown at this time.
