Last Monday, local Rabbis, teachers and members of the community gathered at the Broward CHAI Center to celebrate an evening in honor of the Chaya Aydel Seminary graduating class. Students and community members shared their thoughts and thanks with the girls.

One Seminary graduate related her happy experience in Sunny Florida, “The weather matched the community perfectly, warm and friendly. This year has really incorporated so many invaluable components. A truly stimulating, challenging learning program, a warm and caring staff, opportunities to be involved in the South Florida community, lots of fun in the sun and of course lasting friendships.”

Florida Seminary Graduates Visiting Israel

Last Monday, local Rabbis, teachers and members of the community gathered at the Broward CHAI Center to celebrate an evening in honor of the Chaya Aydel Seminary graduating class. Students and community members shared their thoughts and thanks with the girls.

One Seminary graduate related her happy experience in Sunny Florida, “The weather matched the community perfectly, warm and friendly. This year has really incorporated so many invaluable components. A truly stimulating, challenging learning program, a warm and caring staff, opportunities to be involved in the South Florida community, lots of fun in the sun and of course lasting friendships.”

“The enthusiasm of the girls attracted many new people to our Shul programs. The community benefited greatly from interacting with the different girls on numerous occasions. The Seminary helped me personally with events throughout the year and I saw them graciously offering assistance to many different Chabad houses all over Florida,” an appreciative Shlucha, Mrs Nechama Dina Tennenhaus of Chabad of NE Hollywood,remarked.

The night continued with dinner at a restaurant, where the graduates and their teachers fondly recalled happy events and experiences of the school year. The next day the graduates left for a two week trip visiting so many of the sites in Israel that they learned about in their in- depth Jewish History Course.

Chaya Aydel Seminary is the only Jewish Women’s Teachers Seminary in Florida. Girls from around the world come to South Florida to learn, to grow and to teach others.

The Seminary program includes over 15 instructors on a weekly basis offering a wide range of courses descriptions including: Tanach, Haftora, Chassidic Philosphy , Teaching Methodology, Educational Psychology, Chassidic Literature, In Depth Halacha, Gemora and Responsa . Some of their mini-courses include classroom management,art, food preparation and decorating, fitness, dance and self defense. The Seminary has been in existence for five years and is located at 1295 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd, in Hallandale Beach, at the Broward and Dade county border.

The Seminary prepares the students to be future community leaders, teaching and reaching out to Jews worldwide. The 07/08 school year begins October 9, 2007.Principals are Rabbi and Mrs Yossy Lebovics,Rabbi Lebovics is a well known third generation Jewish educator par excellence. Dean of the Seminary is Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus.executive vice president of Chabad of South Broward.Some of the weekly teachers include Rabbi A Lieberman, Rabbi Y Marlow, Rabbi S Amar, Rabbi D Kudan, Rabbi Y Frankfurter,Rabbi R New, Rabbi Lebovics and Rabbi Tennenhaus.Women teachers include Mrs T Schapiro, Mrs Y Benhamu, Mrs R Mendelsohn, Mrs C Lebovics,Mrs C Citron, and Dr D Aizenman.
