NYC Health Dept. Shuts Down Nosh World

Crown Heights, Brooklyn –- The neighborhood nosh and ice cream store, Nosh World Was shut down late last week by New York City’s Health Department. Last week Thursday, May 17th, a two hour long inspection left the store closed and the owner, Moshe Machputz an extensive list of items he needs to fix and correct.

Mr. Machputz told CrownHeights.info that inspectors were very unhappy about the condition of the basement, that there were mouse droppings and debris that were never cleaned all over the basement floor, other issues included some technicalities with the proximity of some food preparation surfaces.

The owner is to correct all these issues before he will be allowed to reopen for business, Mr. Machputz said that he expects to reopen right after Shavuot.

    This embarrassing! The stores in CH should stop being slum holes and get with the times. Any respectable business should clean up mouse droppings etc.

    when was the last time u walked in and saw nosh anyways. they barely have nosh and hardly 2 flavors of pareve ice cream. when ever i go in for a milk shake they have no milchig ice cream. hello? is this an ice cream store?!
    they should redo their store and reopen and RESTOCK cuz their shelves are always empty.

    I most definitety agree with that. If he left the store as is, albeit slightly cleaner, the changed attitude alone would enhance his business. It would still be Nosh Worls as we know it, in a more pleasant form. :)

    The new york city health department have a link on their website that allows you to search any restaurant in NYC by name and see all the violations they have ever gotton. I usually check it out before going to a new restaurant.

    Unbelievavble how the people of CH talk. All of you who left such rude messages, should be ashamed of themselves. Yes everybody is allowed there own opinion in life, but to spread it around publicly to everyone….you should be out there helping Moshe get back on his feet and recover his lost Parnasa!! instead of writing all the bad things you can think of. He’s one of us!

    To Mendy your 100% right not that any store in CH cheats people but you should see the way Moshe makes sure to give back the change so carefully not to cheat anyone & for an example stuff like this happen if someone says he gave a $20 & the store owner says it’s a $10 most stores would not give in but Moshe he always gives in because he is very careful not to cheat anyone, we need more people like Moshe Machputz.

    For all those who have so much time to spew such hate on Erev Shavuos, go and look at yesterdays Hayom Yom and go work on it….

    Unfortunately this goes on in a lot of kosher restaurants, just a few weeks ago the health department shut down Cafe K in the city for similar violations, droppings, mold etc… (disgusting!)
    Just eat home-made goods!

    This is not a crackdown on NYC in general. If you think about it, NOSH World and Kretchme are 2 stores that do not take the hechsher of the corrupt CHK. No wonder they were targeted. Do any of you really believe that CHK stores are any cleaner than the others? Unfortunately, in todays world mesira is rampant, and only a phone call away.

    If you want to see what a beautiful ice cream store should look like, go to Motty Steinberg’s store in Boro Park on 13th Ave between 45 and 46 street. A true honest Lubavitcher chossid with a stunning store. He even has a big beautiful sign in the middle of the store saying the Tzemach Tzedek’s quote,“Tracht gut vet zain gut”. The beauty of this chossids heart shines out through his store. May he (and all) have much hatzlacha.

    i had a store in crown height!
    it was hard, when i closed the store people told me they were sorry cuase we had great stuf at great prices at the end of the day people go out !
    we need to start looking at the good
    that we have in our community and that will grow

    I have been going to Nosh World since i was a little girl. I love that place. yes, it is a little small and empty at times but moshe always had a nice word for me and my children.
    all of you who are mean should stop and look inside of yourselves. does making fun and being mean to somebody else make you feel like a big macher??? well guess what the opposite is true. Do you have nothing better to do with yourselves than this?? GET A LIFE and stay out of other people’s.
