Republicans Win Control of the U.S. Senate

Riding a wave of anger and dissatisfaction with government in Washington, Republicans, for the first time in 8 years, took control of the senate and made gains in the House of Representatives. In New York State Andrew Cuomo was reelected as governor.

Upset over the direction of the economy and the country, voters Tuesday delivered a crushing mid-term rebuke to President Barack Obama, giving Republicans control of the Senate and an overwhelming majority in the House.

The GOP toppled at least three incumbent senators and snatched four open seats held by retiring Democrats, guaranteeing that the Senate will have at least 52 Republicans in January.

In the House, the Republicans added at least 10 seats, including two in Obama’s home state of Illinois, and they defeated the last of the white Southern Democrats. With several races still uncalled, the GOP was on track to have its largest majority since 1946.

I feel better economic times are coming with the GOP in control. Let’s hope that no Rabbi has to hand in his Shabbos schpeil to the government, the way that Christian ministers were asked….this totally violates anyone’s impression of religious freedom, and you will only find this under socialism…the socialism that is being pushed to us by the current administration…ie, limit of personal freedoms…and, really, isn’t THAT what we came here for—FREEDOM!
