Faulty Airbags Lead to Honda Odyssey Recall

Honda has announced that they are issuing a recall on their 2014 Odyssey minivan, a model that is very popular among the Orthodox Jewish Community, because their side air bags may not deploy during a crash.

24,889 Odyssey minivans are subject to the recall.

Honda says a shorting terminal, which prevents deployment of the air bag before it’s put into the vehicle, may have been damaged during the assembly process. That may illuminate the air bag warning light and prevent the side curtain air bags from deploying.

Honda, a Japan-based automaker, said no injuries have been reported related to the issue, which was discovered through warranty repairs.

Beginning on May 16th, Honda will notify all eligible vehicle owners of the recall. The vehicles will be repaired for free at local dealerships.

Oy vey! Nebbach, the poor people who drive these fancy-shmancy vans gotta get them fixed! Why not buy one that’s a few years old, same your money, pay down your credit card, and give more tzedakah?? And despite what you think, leasing IS EXPENSIVE!

  • TO # 1 - NOT REALY

IT COST ABOUT 275 A MONTH OR 300 FOR 8 PASENGER. YOU CAN SPEND ABOUT $2,000 IN REPAIRS A YEAR ON OLD CARS. NOT TO MENTION YOUR TIME IT TAKES TO GO BACK AND FORTH AND WAIT FOR THE REPAIRS – NOT KNOWING IF YOUR GOING TO BE RIPED OFF. ALSO, ITS 10X SAFER TO DRIVE IN A NEW VEHICLE – WITH LIVES AT STAKE… I USED TO THINK LIKE YOU, BUT WHEN I GOT A $2,000 ESTMATE OF REPAIR COSTS – I SWICHED TO LEASING. NOW SOME MINIVANS ARE $200 A MONTH TO LEASE AND COMES WITH A VIDIO. . .
    HATZLOCHA!
