Drama in CH, Baby sitter walk’s out with child
Last night at around 8:00PM Shomrim received a call for a missing child, immediately the entire force sprang to life and within seconds there were 20 vehicles canvassing the entire CH area.
During the search Hatzalah was called in along with members of the Boro Park Shomrim and the local Police Precinct was called in as well, after about 45 minutes into the search the Police called in the helicopter to aid the search, and that wasn’t enough either, the Shomrim K9 Unit was called in as well.
Around an hour and a half into the search a yellow cab pulled up to the families house, where Shomrim had set up a mobile command post, and out of the cab the cleaning lady got out with the missing child and just walked up to the house like nothing happened, the woman immediately was bombarded with questions and suddenly forgot the little English she knew, the police the called in an officer that understands Spanish, and questioned her as to what had happened. She was supposed to go to the mailbox down the block and back, a task of no more then 10 minutes even with walking a 3 year old child, but for some reason decided to go to the main post office, then the child got tired so they got into a cab. A sketchy story at best.
Julie
Why are you so ready to condem the cleaning lady? It sounds like there was a communication problem, not that she was trying to kidnap the child. If I were in Mexico and suddenly dozens of men were bombarding me with questions, I would probably forget what Spanish I do know!

I was one of the searchers, and i was there when she came, the whole thing didnt fit right, she got out of the front of a cab (not the back). This was 3 Hrs since she left.
All she was supposed to do is walk to the end of the block to the mailbox, then back. Then she said a story of the kid getting tires so thay took a cab. The whole thing didnt not make sence at all.
Julie
It still sounds like a case of poor judgement and irresponsibility rather than a criminal act. Anyway, glad that the child is safe. It must have been a terrifying 90 minutes for the poor mother. Was the child in the front seat of the cab also? If so, that is SO VERY dangerous because of the airbags, and that alone would make me fire the babysitter!
Guy
No the child was in the back and the sitter was in the front with the driver.
Julie
Wait….She arrived in a YELLOW cab? Are there even yellow cabs in Brooklyn? Where did she get in it? Sounds like maybe she knew the cab driver. Hope you will update if they figure out what happened.

to julie: with all due respect, you obviously dont understand the half of what had happened. first of all, the woman who was supposed to be babysitting the child left the house with the child. only three hourse later did she return. whatever her story is, it makes no difference. in fact, her story that she gave was completely idiotic. she "went to the post office" with the child!? at 11pm?!!? and then returned with a cab?? AND she was in the front?! i mean, at this point who cares about airbags. the point is that this woman should not be babysitting or working near children. when you say "where did she find a yellow cab in brooklyn" or, its dangerous for the kid to be in the front…." is like saying, "it isn’t good for michael jackson to be with kids because all his makeup might scare them". please reply to what im saying i would like to hear your opinion now.thanks, CH28.

also, to julie: in your original comment you said "it SOUNDS like there was a communication problem…." well i just want to tell you, i was there myself and i was one of the search parties as a memeber of shomrim. im telling you from what i SAW, not "heard" that this woman was up to no good. we have spanish cleaning ladies in my family, we have nothing against them. it has nothing to do with who she is and where she comes from. it’s about the actions she took. thats all. i forgot to say that b4.
thanks,
CHVP Shomrim CH28.

In the orginal article, it said the search lasted 90 minutes. The yellow cab thing surprised me because as far as I know, there are no yellow cabs circulating Brooklyn for people to flag down. It took me a while to realize this. I was wondering where the sitter actually took the girl where she was able to get a yellow cab. Manahttan? Obviously the woman is not a good babysitter. I was just trying to figure out if she was simply stupid and irresponsible or criminal. I just don’t understand what the purpose of her doing this whole thing was.
CH28
to julie, (again).: we dont know if the woman is a criminal or just plain stupid. either way, she did something very wrong, and is in questioning at the police now. as far as her coming back in a yellow cab, that is why we think she did something wrong. maybe the cabbie is her boy friend. we dont know. and also, i dont know why it said the search lasted 90mins. i was eating dinner at around 7pm when i got the call, and i know that we were done by 9:30pm. the child was missing for more then 90mins, and the search began from about a half hour after the cleaning woman/babysitter left with the child. also, i want to note for the record it was a boy not a girl. the child was a two year old boy.
if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. or email me at tladamex5@yahoo.com
thanks.CH28.

as one of the members that saw, she actually cam eout of a black lincoln town car with stickers from a car service by avenue d and utica, which after finishing at the location went down to speak to them and the manager told me that none of her drivers picked anyone up but it could have been a driver that got fired by the company but kept the stickers on to pick up street customers, but she was in the front of the car and the child was in the back

as "the jewish singer" said, it wasn’t a yellow cab. i myself did not see the cab, so i dont know. i dont know why the article has it as a yellow cab if it wasn’t. maybe it’s just a different way to refer to a taxi.

It was a Black Lincoln Town Car
shmuly
if it was a black lincoln town car, why did the article say it was a yellow cab?
