Say Goodbye to Phone Bill Shock

NY1

The days of the surprise $2,000 cell phone roaming bill will soon be over.

The Federal Communications Commission and wireless carriers have reached an agreement that would require your phone company to send an alert to cell phone users nearing their monthly included limit for voice, text or data services.

The New York Times reports the agreement will be announced in Washington today.

It comes after an 18-month investigation by the FCC into so-called “bill shock” where customers are hit with charges of hundreds of dollars for going over their monthly limits.

The wireless companies say they will have the alerts in place within a year.

    Great!!!

It’s about there money.t time. With the financial situation being what it is now, people are very cautious as to how they spend. I think we have all had the terrible experience of receiving these unexpected absorbent cell phone bills.
