Additionally, the phones’ rightful owners are often oblivious to their surroundings as they stare at their screens or press them to their ears. But a fairly typical iPhone theft on Monday in southern Queens involved an unusual reversal of roles: it was the man that the police believe to be the thief who was ambushed.
The victim of the iPhone theft, a 31-year-old woman, had apparently considered it likely that her iPhone would someday be stolen. So she downloaded an application to her iPhone that instructs the phone to take a picture and e-mail it to her if an incorrect password is used to unlock the iPhone’s home screen, the police said.
That is precisely what happened, the police said, after a man bumped into her on Liberty Avenue and took her iPhone 4 from her front right pocket. The photo, which the woman later received via e-mail, shows a young man with closely cropped hair and an earring in his left ear in a bare room, with what appears to be a skylight. The woman passed the photo on to the Police Department, which distributed the photo widely to try to identify the man.
The app is available online under the name iGotYa, but is not for sale through iTunes.

2. always check 611 from phone. its illegal to buy stolen stuff and hard to explain to judge ….
3. buy only! unlocked phone.! if you are legal owner it very simple !you call 611 and say, that you need it for travel abroad us. they try to lie, but can refuse it federal law. usually in this step you clearly see, that phone is stolen(so why buy used, stolen on new price?) or not
4. meet in yours place!. only in public safe place .
save all conversation mail txt etc. if you meet buy with yours friend as witness . it prove that you not criminal only buy, from bad man
check who is owner. you can buy and after some time saler’s mom, or boss. call to company and say,oh , i cant find my phone, and you have trouble:) . minimum carrier block phone. maximum man say IDK :( somebody steel it from me). and you have a case.

check review and CL add for ex: all people that buy WM7 phones want sale it on half price after 2-5 day(as they put in add) so m.b don’t buy at all (it no way flash it to android) or veeeery cheap
6. check service price. if somebody want sale broken phone(oh it few $ to repair ) it lie!!. for ex. repair broken screen on HD2 or galaxy, and all old model is more expensive, than buy used on CL or propose to guy meet near repair shop to free estimation!
