He’s the controversial civil rights campaigner whose colourful past includes accusations of bigotry, racism and anti-Semitism. Now cable news network MSNBC is reportedly handing Reverend Al Sharpton the 6pm primetime slot in a move bound to cause a storm.

Rev Sharpton, 56, has been guest hosting the slot for three weeks, after radio host Cenk Uygur had a six-month try-out that failed.

The former Democratic presidential candidate is set to become the only black host of a U.S. primetime cable news show.

    This is a desperation move by MSNBC because their ratings are the worst of all cable stations. They would be long gone if it wasn’t for their parent company NBC supporting them.
    By the way if you don’t like this write to NBC they are responsible.

    Even his own followers wouldn’t be watching him because his lies and BS is too much for anyone to swallow.

    This is one of the most left wing, liberal nutcase station out there. Hiring a tax cheat like Al Sharpton (whose non profit owed millions in back withholdings to the IRS-in other words taken from employees and not sent to the government), shows their true colors.
