Triple Simchah at Chicago’s Largest Chabad Synagogue
This past Sunday, 24 Elul, September 17, 2006, nearly 1000 people from all walks of the community, including rabbonim from throughout the Chicago Jewish community (among them Chabad, Brisk, Agudah, Chassidic, Persian, Sephardi and other communities) attended festivities throughout the day at Congregation Bnei Ruven Nusach Ari in Chicago, Illinois (one of the largest Chicago shuls and the main Chabad shul).

In honor of a new Sefer Torah (donated by Dr. and Mrs. Reuven (Faye) Weiss, prominent members of the Chicago and Chabad, as well as the head of department of endocrinology at University of Chicago), naming of the Weinschneider mikvah (undoubtedly the most beautiful in the Chicago area), and dedication of the newly renovated beis hamedrash. Hachnasah began at 2 p.m. and the dedication ceremonies and gala dinner followed into the evening. Inspirational speaker Rabbi Yossi Jacobson wowed the dinner crowd of nearly 400 once again with his meaningful thoughts.
This event was a major Kiddush HaShem and Kiddush Chabad and added strength to the synagogue, under the leadership of Rabbi and Mrs. Baruch Hertz and their dedicated community supporters.
Bnei Ruven has a long and rich history serving the Jews of Chicago, with a strong shaychus to the Rebbe and the Frierdiker Rebbe.
