At around 4:00pm yesterday (Wednesday) a woman walking home holding her infant child noticed 2 black youths around the age of 10 to 12 lighting firecrackers, she immediately headed for her building only to have firecrackers thrown at her and exploding right next to her sending the woman into panic and shock.

Shomrim were called and units responded right away and attempted to get a description of the perps but they could not find them. Police was called and a complaint had been filed.

Firecrackers are illegal if you see anyone playing with them don’t hesitate to call 911 and complain. Throwing firecrackers at someone is consider an assault, if you were a victim of such an assault call 911 and file a complaint. A crime not reported is a crime that didn’t happen.

    here we go again!

What do we have to go through before NYPD sits up and takes notice of us?

I feel i’m living in Iraq…where are the troops?

  • It-s An Outrage!

Where is the police presence in this neighborhood! Perhaps instead of the community counsel and rabbis in this town arguing about who should have more power they should band together to actually get something done for this community. There are hoodlums in this neighborhood and the police are nowhere to be found – aside from kingston avenue issuing tickets.

what do we have to do, knock the crap out of these kids to get the cops to come?

  • still just waiting

If you DO beat up these lowlifes, what happens? YOU get arrested, THEY get victim compensation & free therapy for their trauma. Don’t ever lay a finger on any kid who’s not yours. It isn’t worth it.

It’s An Outrage is right on the $$$. Doesn’t matter though…the Rabbis & CC heads don’t care about us. Haven’t you figured that one out yet???

to "waiting": i didn’t mean to actually touch them, i was saying thats the only way to get cops over fast, if WE actually do something wrong.

  • Duby

I love reading everyone’s comments about how rabbi’s should stop fighting and they should concentrate on helping the community.

let us get something very straight.
Crown heights is NOT A COMMUNITY. It is a melting pot. (of what, i will not say, i dont wish to be that harsh over the net)

Therefore, instead of wishing and hoping and being annoyed/ angry about the "Rabbonim" (who noone respects and cares about anyway) – how come YOU – parents, husbands, wives, bochurim, girls, have not gone to Shomrim and Shemira- FORGET THE POLOTICS , have a meeting and discuss what can be done. Involve a police captain also and once and for all come up wiht a Community Wide Plan of Action.

Since all of you people are toooooo busy to do that, and at the end of the day, everyone is just wrapped up in their own lives and worlds, and dont really care about their neighbors, then nothing will happen.

I dont live in Crown Heights anymore. It was a vile and disgusting place for me and my experience living there was a little less than horrible and wretched.

I read Crown Heights.info waiting to see the day when i read an article talking about REAL action in Crown Heights – real action taken by YOU – not the Rabbonim, or the Council, or any of those other people everybody likes to blame things on…. it is UP TO YOU to make it happen!!!!!!!!!!!

Have I made my point clear?

  • Outraged

To Duby – how dare you diss the place that we live in, vile and disgusting, little less than horrible and wretched! Maybe we are better off without vile and disgusting people such as yourself! I am sick of people moving out of the area and then cursing us out, this is our home. There are plenty of people who are very happy here and have made a great life for themselves and their family. Sure the grass is greener on the other side, but trust me every place has its maalas and chesronas – I’m sure yours does too, but I would never call it the names you call ours talk about rude – home is what you make it!!!

  • STILL just waiting

Duby does have a point…we SHOULD band together & ty to solve our problems ourselves, because we can’t depend on Rabbonim/CHJCC. They’re too busy in court to bother about our safety/welfare.

The reality is, though, that every group needs a spokesman or 2 to reresent them; otherwise it becomes a balagan & no one listens.

My vote…Shea Hecht. Can’t think of one other person in CH who is capable & has contacts in government. Can anyone else?

Other than that, Duby, glad you’re gone! People like you make this place worse. You left, so you don’t have the right to criticize. It’s like voting…use it or lose it. If you want to make a difference, COME BACK!! Then you have the right to complain. But be nice!! Remember… they’re imbeciles!!

    Go, Leiby ***
