Monday, the 11th of Teves 5770, the United Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway, marked the 34th yartzite of their late assistant principal and long time friend/adviser to the Mayor and the many more titles that Reb Shmuel Schrage O.B.M. had. With a “Middos Tovos gathering” discussing how to constantly improve their middos without boundaries and helping to up lift their environment as well as helping their siblings who may attend other yeshivos or schools.

The Yeshiva Midos Tovos passport campaign, named in his memory and honor, has been recharged and altered to create even better results.

All students vividly remember Mrs. Shrage, coming to yeshiva 2 years ago and inspiring them. Some of the talmidim at the Middos Tovos gathering, retold stories Mrs. Shrage had recounted, to the students who unfortunately missed the event. “The ways in which he touched so many lives through his selfless acts of kindness, is truly remarkable.”

In his memory, U.L.Y.O.P. keeps program top notch to give the kinderlach the opportunity to evaluate their own middos and then make improvements as they are needed.

This program will I”YH be followed up with many assemblies recognizing those good middos and helping the boys live as true Temimim in Lubavitch.

Very fond memories from my years in Lubob Yeshiva, years:
1957-1969. As I mentioned a little while ago about R’ Samuel Fogelman. They, R’ Shrage & R’ Fogelman were a great team. Wish I was there two years ago when Mrs. Shrage spoke.
I remember when my brother Usher o.b.m. injured him self in yeshiva, in R’ Weingarten’s classroom on the third floor of Bedford Ave., school building. After Hospital Emergency Room; R’ Shrage drove all of my brothers to our home in Carnasie to break the news “gentlie” to our parents.
Remember in high school gave us a class in English subject on journalism. R’ Shrage wrote for daily newspapers.
A great man, a real mentch in my eyes. I’m sure his nishomer is in the highest levels of shmayim.

I fondly remember R’ Shrage. As I wrote recently when R’ Fogelman’s celebrated his 80th birthday. They, R’Shrage & R’Fogelman were a great team. My yeshiva years, 1957-1969, were the best !
When my younger brother Usher obm injured himself on the third floor of R’Weingarten’s classroom in the Bedford Ave
Yeshiva building. After the emergency room in the hospital,
R’Shrage took all of us four brothers home, in carnasie, in his car. In order to break the news gently to my parents.
I remember in high school, for a English class / subject. R’Shrage sub-ed & taught us abo0ut journalisim. R’Shrage wrote for some daily newspapers.
R’Shrage was from Argentia, a communister country in S. America. Was seperated from his parents, who sacrificed in order to send him to Lubavitcher yeshiva.
I’m sure R’Shrage’s nershomer is in the highest levels of Shmayim / Gan Eden. When Mrs. Shrage spoke two years
ago; I wish I would have been able to attend & reminded about the “good old days”.

Reb Shmuel Shrage was a tremendous asset to our community. He was a true mentch with great Ahavas Yisrael. I was still a kid when he passed away however, I vividly remember that day – many tears were shed. From that day onward it was decided that it was imperative to get an Hatzolah ambulance in Crown Heights – because of the way the city ambulance treated him –
