The Long Awaited Debut Album is Almost Here!

A variety of talented artists team up to bring you this masterful musical production. Selections include compositions from such famed composers as Yitzy Waldner and Elimelech Blumstein, and relative newcomers like Meshulum Greenberger and Oriel Avraham. Arrangers range from Good ol’ Mona and Moshe Laufer to the always incredible Leib Yaakov Rigler and Avremi G, along with some great surprises from Ian Freitor, the album’s engineer.

The Friedman/Marcus families showcase some very strong talent with three compositions, including the title track, Taamu, composed by Shmuel Marcus, an incredible piece of music sure to take your breath away composed by Simche Friedman, and a Bentzi Marcus composition featuring a duet with 8th Day! Rabbi Manis Friedman, Benny’s father, collaborates with Lipa Schmeltzer to compose a Yiddish lyric that will at once force you to look inward, while causing your feet to move with the beat!

A special musical tribute was composed by Yitzy Spinner in memory of Izzy Taubenfeld, the founder of Sameach Music.

As an added bonus, the cover art and the CD jacket and all the corresponding art was all designed by the undisputed king of Jewish Music design, Sruly Meyer!

Keep an eye on JewishJukebox.com for an official release date coming very soon!

Very Smart Picture walking in the middle of E.P. you couldn’t have thought of a better marketing photo???!! Now all we need is for our children to emulate the photo shot….Chassidim quoted the Friedike Rebbe how much he feared the traffic on E.P.

    @ concerned parent:

Dont worry too much, your children are probably not listening to this genre of music. (aka Jewish music)

Benny, I’m very excited to hear your “talent on tape”!! you look great!

  • shmerel.

Please do not walk in the middle of the road, this was done in a controlled setting and handled by professionals.

  • online comments are silly

first of all, he shouldn’t be walking in the middle of the street. does it look like he’s looking both ways? this is bad for our kids!
Plus, he thinks we’re gonna believe that there’s really a sign coming out of his knee? no way.
why didnt he learn from his uncle, who had a street on his last CD with NO PEOPLE walking on it!

    To concerned parent

Here is a chance to explain to your children about the wonderful technology we have like photoshop etc….

I wrote in the comments on another website that the picture of him walking in traffic looks very dangerous, but they didn’t print the comment.
I am glad to see that CrownHeights.info is not censoring those comments.
It isn’t too late to change the cover – I think it should be done ASAP.
Benny is not a rapper who needs to pose doing something dangerous – walking in the middle of EP like that is a very bad image for our children to see.
I hope that is not the final cover – if it is then I will have to think twice before buying the CD.

if your’e kid is going to walk into traffic on e.p. because he saw the cover of this cd, your kid should never be alone, and shouldn’t be allowed to watch/see/ look at anything. that is ridiculous!!

I am very concerned about my children reading these comments and thinking that annal/retentive disorder is something to share with the world.

I’m sure parents are doing their jobs and making sure their children know better than to cross a busy street like that. This is done for artistic purposes only and I hope we are doing good enough jobs as parents that our children understand the difference between what they see in a video, on a CD cover and whats acceptable in real life.

Please please make this album available on iTunes. (You can do this via TuneCore.com — really affordable). I would really buy this online — but not on CD…

  • I will try that next time i-m crossing E

Great Photo! I will try that next time i’m crossing EP.

    Concerned Parent:

You said exactly what I was thinking. Where’s the seichel? Not to mention acting responsibly. Young kids think all these singers are “cool.” How “cool” is it to be road kill?

  • Zigi

As for the front cover, isn’t it obvious that he’s trying to be linked in the public imagination with a somewhat better known artist whose most recent release likewise features a front cover photo of a highway going “this-away and that-away”?

  • ahh

Not impressed with the cover art at all… I think you could have done much much better!

It just doesn’t look appropriate…. perhaps if you were singing rap it would go…

  • cover shock

    to Zalman and concerned parent:

That is the first thing I saw when I opened the artice!!! I hope that it is not the real cover!!! If it is I will buy the CD and throw away the cover.

  • yosef

maybe its tamu uriu, that there are two sides to the road.. you need to see the right one…

  • Lord!

Lord have mercy- if any of the kids are mentally challenged then I feel very bad for all of you and you need to escort your kids at all times!!There is something very seriously wrong if children start acting out an album cover!

  • Concerned Citizen and CD Buyer

I hear he has an amazing voice, but I have to agree about the CD cover. It will definitely give the wrong message to our youth– that message being it is okay to saunter down eastern parkway any time they please. Mr. Friedman also looks a bit angry here. This cover would have been so much nicer if it had been taken, oh say, in the park, on a sunny day and he had had a smile on his face. That’s a message we want for our kinderlach.

I would also like to say that the corner of the CD cover is a bit crumpled. Did it get squished before crownheights.info took a photo of it? I certainly hope it is not supposed to look like someone sat on it on the actual CD!! Another message of carelessness we do NOT want here!

Lots of luck on the success of this wonderful new CD- just please change the cover. See suggestions above.

  • THE TRUTH

Nice. Thank god he has a beard and has his Tzisis out like a normal Jewish singer (or at least the way a Jewish singer should look) unlike the way OTHER singers look, with NO BEARD etc.

Benny has the future of Jewish music in his hands, all the other WANNABEES should give up now…stop copying MBD & Fried, cuz they are the real stuff.

  • Bike Lane not Road

um! people if ur child wasnt raised properly don’t show him Agent Emes or even any passover videos… because if you do? they will either go build pyramids or become superheros… I’m a marketer and advertising consultant, and this CD cover (which is taken on a bike lane, where there are no cars) is beautiful. Finally Jewish Media is getting some decent covers. If you have a problem, sit down like a regular parent and explain like you do when a child is afraid of monsters (that they saw in a book) that “This is not real. There is no such thing.”

  • please post. To bored of bored souls

believe it or not we are all bored souls, looking for some gossip to fill our minds with. The reason there are so many readers coming to this site is because we all love gossip. who died who was injured who was raped who was robbed. knowing the gossip is real pleasure.

  • Shmulie

Go Benny – You’ve got a sweet genre all crazy and rustic on the twitter and the cover!!

    Lotsa luck!
